Double ES9038Q2M chip
The SU 8 V2 is a high-precision DAC operating thanks to two 32-bit ES9038Q2M SABRE chips integrated in dual Mono mode : each of these chips dedicates 100% of its computing power to a single channel of the stereophonic signal for an exceptionally clear reproduction with well defined crosstalk.
This component is one of ESS flagship products and one of the best current hardware solutions for high-fidelity audio decoding, notably with HYPERSTREAM 32 BIT 768KHZ architecture as well as native DSD support. They are also equipped with advanced reconstruction filters and have excellent finesse in dithering.
ESS technology is also very popular in that it allows extremely precise and signal-friendly volume control.
These chips integrate a rudimentary DSP offering the possibility of configuring the active processing of second and third harmonics. This parameter is supported by the SU-8V2 in order to allow the user to adjust the rendering to the specifics of his speakers / amplifiers as much as to his personal preferences.
XMOS USB Interface

The USB-B input operates through an XMOS U208 USB interface with asynchronous design. This component no longer has to prove its worth in the world of high-fidelity music, supporting digital streams up to 32-bit 768kHz as well as the DSD512 (native).
This input is controlled by crystal clocks with ultra-low phase noise to effectively limit digital artifacts and noise.

Included remote control

The SMSL SU 8 V2 DAC is delivered with its remote control. The latter requires two AAA batteries which are not supplied.
This remote control offers to control all the functions of the device: Power on / off, mute, volume control, input source selection, options relating to the DAC screen and parameters of filters and audio adjustment.
Note that a single remote control can control all DA-8 / SU-8 / DH-8 series devices from SMSL.
